Interns work at BSTC for a minimum of 10 hours per week for at least 2 months. Internships depend on the skills and interest of the volunteer as well as the needs of Black Spectrum Theatre and are available throughout the year. Semester and Summer internships are competitive. To apply for an internship, please submit a resume and cover letter detailing your interests and availability to the address below.

While all internships are unpaid, they provide a unique opportunity to work in a microcredit program and be closely involved with all aspects of the organization. Hours and schedule are flexible depending on the intern’s schedule, and internships can be used for college credit. Additionally, internships can sometimes be customized depending on skills of individual applicants.

Each summer, BSTC offers a limited number of competitive internship opportunities.

The following are the Fall Internships available for 2011:

Development and Communications Internship
Interested in non-profit fundraising? Help BSTC with a variety of development tasks related to individuals, government and foundation sources. From event planning, to prospect research, stewardship and grant application preparation, the intern will gain hands-on experience in a variety of fundraising areas. The Intern must have superior communication skills (both verbal and written) and excellent attention to detail. Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask are also essential. Prior experience designing flyers, invitations and/or ads is a plus. This internship requires 20 hours per week.
